Cloud DevSecOps Engineer (Mid-Senior Level)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Can work independently with little or no supervision
  • Lead small teams to deliver results for customers
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers
  • Identify design patterns for software and infrastructure that satisfy both customer and organizational requirements
  • Write specifications, runbooks, and documentation to improve the speed and efficiency of service delivery and operations
  • Participate in the development of workflows and processes for implementation and operations teams
  • Create and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure and code
  • Implement and monitor security controls and measures
  • Identify and remediate potential security risks and vulnerabilities
  • Assist with incident response and disaster recovery efforts
  • Identify opportunities for customers to use additional Apper services and solutions proactively
  • Provide out-of-hours support coverage according to the support schedule
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and best practices

Level (Years of Professional IT Experience):

Professional experience as a software developer, DevSecOps engineer, system/network administrator, cloud engineer, technical support engineer, systems analyst, systems operator, or cloud architect are required in order to be considered for the position. The ranking is based on the following criteria:

  • Mid: 4 – 7 years

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role
  • 3+ years working experience with programming languages and frameworks commonly used in development and operations on AWS such as Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, Ruby and PHP
  • 3+ years working experience with AWS IaaS, SaaS & PaaS offerings
  • In-depth experience with AWS compute, storage, network, load balancer, and container management
  • In-depth knowledge of automated provisioning and DevOps tooling
  • In-depth knowledge with CI/CD tools and Pipeline engineering
  • In-depth experience with security tools and technologies such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners
  • Technical understanding of security best practices and industry standards such as OWASP, NIST, and ISO 27001
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • Experience with SUSE, RHEL, and Windows operating systems
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • With AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, or Sysops Administrator Associate

Education:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. However, candidates without a bachelor’s degree or non-technical field may be considered depending on past professional experience.
